Food & Wine Journeys
Food & Wine Tours
These carefully selected tours showcase not only some of the best food and wine of a particular area or region but they also give you an insight into the history, culture and sights of the regions of which they visit. With the world closed off for now we at Journey On are bringing you some of the best that Australia has to offer.
Did you know that Australia is home to some of the world’s oldest vines, the wine industry being born when the first were planted in Camden, NSW in the 1820’s. Australia also has over 60 wine regions that produce more than 100 different grape varieties. From shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot noir, tempranillo, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot gris…the list goes on. We also have some of the best produce in the world, with our food scene constantly evolving. From wineries, local food producers and market visits to experiencing the local sights and sounds we are regularly adding to our food and wine touring list. We can also organise self-driving holidays, if you would prefer to travel within your own group. We can put together an itinerary that is catered just for you and your party.
Interesting Fact – Australia is home to over 300 truffle farms. In fact we are the 4th largest producer in the world of the most prized truffle type – the French black perigord. Truffle hunting season takes place in Australia between the months of June and September.
