Journey On was founded by Sara Birtwhistle and Wendy Ellis, who have run their online travel agency since 2010, offering private consultancy and travel planning to their customers.
Why do we do what we do?
Sara and Wendy both say that ‘pinch yourself’ moment, when you really can’t believe you are experiencing wherever or whatever that moment in time is; that is why we do what we do! This is the soul of our business and what makes us leap out of bed every morning to get to the office and why our boutique business has been so successful.

Sara Birtwhistle has spent all of her adult life involved in travel. She thought; ‘if she can’t travel all the time herself, the next best thing is to help create someone else’s dream getaway. She has river cruised, ocean cruised, expedition cruised, toured with escorted groups, driven around Asia, North America and Europe, flown in large jets and small, eaten beautiful food, met lovely people, soaked up the atmosphere wherever she has been but most importantly – always has a holiday or two in the pipeline and is constantly on the go researching and experiencing all with the sole purpose of helping you with your adventures.
Wendy Ellis

Wendy Ellis’s previous working life had been Manager and Book Buyer for one of Australia’s largest independent bookstores. A chance opportunity presented itself to work with Sara, and Wendy – who also happens to be addicted to travel – thought it would be a challenging change of pace. Wendy has been applying her knowledge of her fabulous travels to help our clients book amazing holidays. Like Sara, Wendy has been on ships small and ships big, has toured with groups, travelled on train journeys and has hopped on a plane at any chance she can get to experience as much of the world as possible. She still loves literature & reading and you can find her book recommendations for your next holiday in your pre-travel pack. Like Sara, she loves having an adventure planned and loves helping our clients create wonderful travel memories.
