7 Day Itinerary
Arrive at Sydney Airport, where our commercial flight to Norfolk Island awaits. After a short flight, arrive at historic Norfolk Island. Located between Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia, this tiny island was originally settled by East Polynesians before being colonised by the British. The island served as a convict penal settlement until 1855, but now houses a lucky few people. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner hosted by your Journey Director.

Stay: Governor’s Lodge – 4 nights
This morning we explore the World Heritage-Listed convict settlement of Kingston. We will learn about the first Polynesian settlers who arrived on the island 900 years ago and also gain an insight into the First and Second British settlements.
Discover how Norfolk became home to the descendants of the infamous Bounty mutiny before a walk through the historic cemetery. Wander through Gallery Guava and Cyclorama, an incredible 360° panoramic painting, a truly unique way to experience the history of the Bounty adventures. A unique experience tonight as we enjoy a progressive dinner, the perfect way to get a taste of the real Norfolk lifestyle.

A relaxed ramble through the National Park starts the day. Walking along the Bridle Track from Red Road to Captain Cook’s Memorial, the guide will help us identify local grasses, ferns, shrubs and trees as well as bird species.
Next, we experience the proud history of the Pitcairn Island settlers. In 1856, Norfolk Island’s history changed forever. Descendants from the Tahiti and the HMS Bounty Mutineers, including Fletcher Christian, resettled in Norfolk from the Pitcairn Islands. Following an afternoon at leisure, enjoy the Trial of the Fifteen – a historical play that allows us to witness a courtroom drama as fifteen extraordinary characters step on stage to expose Norfolk’s colourful and sometimes turbulent past.

While tourism is Norfolk Island’s largest industry, it is by no means its only one. Today we visit several sites across the island to discover the many enterprises that sustain the local community. These range from market gardening and pottery to chocolate making and cheese production. Finish the day with a traditional Island Fish Fry.

Start the day viewing private gardens including those belonging to Bounty mutineer descendants. We visit world-renowned author, Colleen McCullough’s, house, home to the modern-day literary icon for 36 years. Dinner at The Homestead.

This morning is at leisure in Burnt Pine including time to browse the farmer’s markets. This afternoon a glass bottom cruise within the lagoon of Emily and Slaughter Bays will reveal beautiful coral gardens. Tonight’s farewell dinner will be at Hilli Restaurant.

After a leisurely breakfast, we tour the Bounty Folk Museum, which showcases the four settlements on Norfolk Island. Following High Tea overlooking picturesque Cascade Bay, transfer to the airport for the flight to Sydney, where we say farewell to new friends and take away memories of an idyllic island Sojourn.
